Elizabeth is the founding co-director of Vestibular Health. Elizabeth is a compassionate and knowledgeable physiotherapist with expertise in vestibular and concussion rehabilitation. Elizabeth has a Certificate in Vestibular Rehabilitation through Emory University and she has completed additional courses in neurological therapy and concussion management.
Elizabeth’s clinical background is in neurological and complex traumatic injury, and she has a special interest in mild traumatic brain injury. Elizabeth has extensive experience working with community- and hospital-based multidisciplinary teams, focused on people with neurological disorders, balance and gait impairments, and dizziness. She has been part of the Neurology Specialty Program at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute & Altum Health, providing evidence-based care for people with concussion and persistent post-concussion symptoms.
Elizabeth is an Advanced Practice Vestibular Physiotherapist in the Enhanced Dizzy Assessment Clinic at Toronto General Hospital. Elizabeth has also been part of the Hertz Clinic for Meniere’s Disease and Vestibular Dysfunction at the University Health Network, providing individualized physiotherapy assessment and treatment in the Hertz Vestibular Rehabilitation Program and working alongside the multidisciplinary team in the neurotology clinic. During her work in the Hertz Clinic and as an Advanced Practice provider, she has gained knowledge of complex inner ear and neurological conditions and their impacts on balance function.
Elizabeth is also comprehensively trained as a pilates instructor. She develops and teaches continuing education workshops for pilates instructors on anatomy and biomechanics, chronic pain, balance training, and post-rehabilitation exercise at Body Harmonics.

Charmaine is a caring and supportive physiotherapist with a special interest in vestibular and concussion rehabilitation. She obtained her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto, and has a Bachelor of Human Kinetics with a minor in Psychology from the University of British Columbia Okanagan. Her past experience as a physiotherapy assistant and wrestling coach informs her motivational and encouraging approach to care.
Charmaine has completed courses in vestibular rehabilitation, intensive training with our directors, and mentorship with the multidisciplinary team in the Hertz Clinic for Meniere’s Disease and Vestibular Dysfunction at UHN. She has also assisted in developing online vestibular courses.

Shaleen is the founding co-director of Vestibular Health. She is committed to helping patients with dizziness and balance disorders. Since 2010 Shaleen has worked with the multidisciplinary clinical team at the University Health Network. There she established the Hertz Vestibular Rehabilitation program and has helped over a thousand patients with dizziness, offering one-on-one individualized assessments and treatments. Every week Shaleen continues to do multidisciplinary assessments with Drs John Rutka and Paul Ranalli, seeing some of the most complex dizzy patients from across the province. Shaleen is an Advanced Practice Vestibular Physiotherapist in the Enhanced Dizzy Assessment Clinic at Toronto General Hospital.
Shaleen has extensive training in the field; she has completed her vestibular certification from Emory University (Atlanta) and has advanced training from Duke University (North Carolina). She has spent a lot of time in the US being mentored by experts in the field and regularly attends conferences to keep her knowledge aligned to best practices. Shaleen also has expertise in facial neuromuscular retraining for facial nerve palsy.
Shaleen has a keen interest in teaching and research. She teaches vestibular rehabilitation at the University of Toronto, and has provided educational workshops locally and internationally. Her latest research looked at the prevalence of vestibular issues in elderly patients experiencing falls. She has many publications and has presented her research at conferences all over the world.
